Player Profile – Boo Weekley

Boo Weekley, a 2006 Nationwide Tour graduate, earned his first PGA TOUR victory at the Verizon Heritage in 2007 and was victorious in defending his title in 2008, becoming the first back-to-back winner at this event since 1991-1992. He is only the eighth player since 1960 to win his first two TOUR titles in the same event. Weekley is credited as the emotional leader on the winning 2008 U.S. Ryder Cup Team and garnered worldwide attention for riding his driver “cowboy horse” style down the first fairway. He is nicknamed after cartoon hero Yogi Bear’s sidekick, “Boo Boo” Bear.

Weekley was a member of the PGA TOUR in 2002 then played on the Nationwide Tour from 2003 to 2006. He has been on the PGA TOUR since 2007.

Weekley's support of Wounded Warrior Project:

Weekley is proud to support the efforts of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing tangible comfort and unique, direct support to meet the specialized needs of severely injured service men and women as they recover and transition to civilian life.

Among other programs, WWP provides wounded warrior backpacks and transitional care packages for severely wounded soldiers upon their arrival at military trauma centers.
